Thanksgiving Country Style!

This year I decided to host my very first Thanksgiving dinner. Jeffrey and I have been living in our little farm house for about 6 months now. We have hosted numerous dinner parties but thought it would be fun to have a BIG Thanksgiving dinner with 25 of our closest friends. Now cooking and entertaining for 25 people is A LOT of work. So we decided to make the party a pot luck. I took the day off work and made the turkey, stuffing, and a stuffing casserole. Jeffrey took the day off work to prepare the outside.

I really wanted to have everyone sitting at one long table but inside there just wasn't room for that. So during the week Jeffrey and I took our run down barn and turned it into a beautiful venue. We cleaned it all out and laid a crap load of fresh gravel. We then decided to string white lights across the beams and decorate using haystacks. We set up folding chairs and tables and made sure there was enough seating for 25. We then set up a fire pit and haystacks outside the barn so if it got a little chilly at night, we could all sit around the fire.

The weather ended up being AMAZING!! 28 degrees Celsius which is above average for the month of October. The weather, the food and the company was perfect. Our guests arrived around 7pm and were blown away by all the work Jeffrey and I put into our first Thanksgiving Feast.

We called this night the Feast at the Farm and everyone agreed that it should be a new tradition. So every Friday of Thanksgiving weekend, Jeffrey and I will be hosting a Feast at the Farm!
